Nos Maâlems (maîtres artisans) conçoivent chaque panneau en cèdre de l'Atlas ou en bois de noyer noble selon vos dimensions spécifiques. L'ensemble de la structure est sculpté et peint avec des pigments naturels dans notre atelier de Fès, puis divisé en modules de plafond numérotés pour un assemblage simplifié lors de la livraison. Nous expédions partout aux États-Unis, en Europe et dans le Golfe avec un emballage muséal et fournissons des plans de montage détaillés pour vos architectes ou entrepreneurs locaux.

L'atelier Arbor fabrique des tables de repas de luxe, des tables basses et des tables de jardin uniques. Nous travaillons principalement deux matières de prestige : le noyer noir massif sculpté (ainsi que le cèdre de l'Atlas de haute montagne) et le Zellige de Fès authentique monté sur fer forgé. Nos tables de salle à manger en bois intègrent des assemblages traditionnels de menuiserie sans vis métalliques apparentes. Les tables en Zellige marocain sont faites de carreaux d'argile naturelle cuits au feu de bois et taillés à la main par des Maâlems, reposant sur un châssis en fer traité antirouille idéal pour les salons intérieurs ou extérieurs.

Oui, nos menuisiers et Maâlems fabriquent des bureaux de prestige, bureaux de direction et tables de conférence en noyer massif sur mesure. Chaque bureau d'ébéniste intègre les exigences contemporaines (telles que le passage discret des câbles et les tiroirs amortis) tout en préservant les ornements de la sculpture traditionnelle sur bois. Conçus à Fès et expédiés mondialement, ces bureaux d'architecte apportent une signature de 'quiet luxury' authentique dans les espaces professionnels et résidentiels haut de gamme.

Zellige is an ancient form of Moroccan geometric mosaic tilework, originating in Fes during the 10th century. Each tile is individually hand-cut and fired in traditional wood-kilns by Maâlem — master artisans who train for decades. At Arbor, every Zellige piece is produced in our Fes atelier using centuries-old techniques, with mineral pigments sourced from the surrounding Moroccan landscape. No two pieces are ever identical.

Yes. Arbor commissions are shipped worldwide, with established freight routes to the United States, France, the United Kingdom, Germany, and the Gulf region. International logistics are coordinated with specialist art and antique freight carriers who provide white-glove crating and installation consultation. Lead times for bespoke commissions are typically 6–12 weeks, with an additional 1–3 weeks transit time depending on destination.

A bespoke commission is a one-of-a-kind piece created entirely to the client's specifications — custom dimensions, wood species (including Atlas Mountain Cedar or Black Walnut), finish, geometric pattern, and joinery detail. The client works directly with our lead Maâlem to develop a design brief, after which the piece enters production in Fes. Bespoke commissions represent the highest tier of our offering and are priced accordingly.

Arbor's primary material is Black Walnut, selected for its rich chestnut grain, structural density, and natural durability across climates. We also work with Atlas Mountain Cedar, native to the Moroccan High Atlas range, prized for its aromatic warmth and deep cultural significance in Moroccan architecture. All timber is responsibly sourced, kiln-dried, and inspected by our Maâlem before entering the workshop.

Maâlem (مَعْلَم) is the Moroccan Arabic honorific for a master artisan — a craftsperson who has completed the full apprenticeship and earned the right to lead a workshop. In the Fes medina's craft guilds, a Maâlem in Zellige or woodcarving typically trains for 10–20 years under a senior master before receiving this title. At Arbor, all work is executed or directly overseen by certified Maâlems, ensuring the unbroken lineage of technique in every commission.

Mass-produced 'Moroccan-style' tiles and furniture are typically cast in moulds, machine-cut, and assembled with industrial adhesives, often in factories outside Morocco. Arbor's pieces are hand-cut, hand-fired, and hand-assembled by Maâlem craftsmen in Fes — a process that is inherently slower, more costly, and infinitely more singular. The provenance, the slight variation between tiles, the tool marks in the wood: these are not imperfections but evidence of the human hand, and they constitute the primary value of authentic craft.
