Preserving the Craft of the Maâlems
Arbor was founded on a singular vision: to preserve the centuries-old woodworking lineage of Morocco's master carvers, known as Maâlems. In our Marrakech and Fès workshops, we protect the slow, meticulous methods of architectural carving, panel joinery, and traditional geometric mashrabiya.
Every piece of timber is carefully selected, naturally cured for years, and worked using heirloom hand planes and chisels. We believe that furniture is not just functional; it is a permanent sculptural link between natural materials, mathematical design, and architectural space.

Material Nobility
We work exclusively with sustainably harvested Moroccan Black Walnut and high-altitude Atlas Cedar, celebrated for their unique grain depth, natural oils, and longevity.
Maâlem Joinery
Our artisans use traditional interlocking joinery, assembling intricate ceiling grids and screens without metallic nails or adhesive compounds where possible.
Minimalist Geometry
We adapt classical zellij and mashrabiya patterns into modern, clean architectural profiles that suit the refined aesthetics of contemporary luxury residences.

Our woodwork is installed in premium riads and luxury hotels across Morocco, including Royal Mansour, La Mamounia, and historical medina palaces. These sites serve as real-world galleries of our work.
